Here's a quick update on the progress of our games currently in development:

Wasted Youth, Part 2 is yet to be completed... I recently have been doing some fundemental tinkering and it's taken a lot longer than originally intended. I recently made a big decision in deciding to rewrite the game in an updated language, AS3. I'm not sure if this is such a good idea. So far it's proven to be a pain just to convert the AS2 to AS3 and get it running.
Despite all of this, I hope to finish development by the end of October. Don't be fooled by my estimates, they tend to be a little inaccurate.

Several other games are still in development that have been lying around for some time now: Bunny Invasion 3, Mutant Uprising 2, Untitled Meteor Destruction game, Untitled Arctic Survival game, Stackem (Puzzle game developed by Dave) ... and more, I think.
I wish I could finish them all in a day... but I can't.

There's really not much else to say... however I could reveal to you an exciting addition to Wasted Youth Part 2 that I'm sure will make you Wasted Youth fans very happy:

Piggymon Gen. 2

This time, they're playable and you can challenge anybody in the school to a Piggymon battle.

There will be 80 or 100 Piggymon cards in total. Roughly 60% will be collectable, and the other 40% will be won through Piggymon battles with other people.

The card game has already been developed, and it works very well. It's sure to be a big improvement on the old system.
Here's a rough sketch of what it will look like in the game:

WOW! Look at that, I won ALL THE CARDS!!! That never happens. I rarely win against the computer. That was honestly pure luck. You can tell I'm excited in the video, look at the cursor move in circles. That's my cursor doing a celbratory dance.

So does the game seem familiar? Yes. That's because it's more or less a straight rip-off of the Final Fantasy VIII card game:

Boy... I love the card games in FFVIII & FFIX. Weren't they just great?

We've decided to play a bit with the idea. There will be 3 types of card, Neutral, Light and Dark. There will be several hot-spots on the playing area that will be either light or dark power-ups.

If you place your light card on a dark spot or vice-versa, -1 to all attack power, if you place your light on another light or a dark on a dark, you get +1. Simple.

Gotta catch the Pigs.

Was that worthy of a news post? I'm not sure, however I'm quietly confident that the new Piggymon system will be a great addition to the game. If it proves to be a winner, I might just make a game of nothing but Piggymon Cards. That would be so much easier than what I'm doing now.
